CONCF-28002-TEEN FRANCIA Roye... RENO,MANU 05/08/2026 19/08/2026

YOU RE GONNA HEAR ME ROYE | CONCF-28002-TEEN | 2026-08-05 - 2026-08-19 | RENO,MANU | Age: 15 - 17

The municipality of Roye, an historical partner of Concordia, which used to host our local office, has decided to reconnect with volunteer workcamps in 2022. The municipality is keen to welcome young internationals in its commune and prepares activities throughout the stay for you.

Work: In the heart of the town of Roye, the ancient ramparts bear witness to a rich past…but time has left its mark. Why not take part in restoring them to their former glory? This historic site is a must-see for locals, and with your help, it will regain its beauty! Your mission? Clean and remove vegetation from the ramparts, then repair and repoint the damaged sections using basic masonry techniques. No experience is needed: you will learn everything on site with the support of the technical team. Beyond the manual work, you will also help promote this heritage site by sharing its history with local people and taking part in activities that bring the place back to life. Get ready for a warm welcome from the people of Roye! An opening ceremony with the city hall, meetings with local residents and activities with beneficiaries of the Local Social Action Centre (CCAS) will be part of your stay. On top of that, many events will be organized by the town during the project, including a famous… foam party! A unique experience combining heritage, learning, community life and fun for an unforgettable workcamp!

Accomodation and food: You will be hosted in individual tents next to the village hall Guy Marechal equipped with a kitchen, and set up as a living space for your visit . Showers and toilets will be available in the rest room of the stadium in front of the living area. Community life will be at the heart of the experience: you will share daily tasks and prepare meals together. A budget will be allocated to the animation team, and you will take part in grocery shopping and meal preparation, with a focus on healthy and locally sourced products.

Location: Roye

Location and Leisure: The charming town of Roye, located in the eastern part of the Somme department, is ready to welcome you, as you’ll discover its rich heritage and natural surroundings. During your stay, you can explore the local sports clubs with activities like archery or water polo, as well as take part in the many events organized by the town. A visit to Amiens is also planned, where you can admire its famous Gothic cathedral and the unique “hortillonnages”, the floating gardens that are a highlight of the region. The first week will end with a fun and lively foam party in the town center! For some free-time relaxation, the swimming pool is just a short walk from the accommodation, and the town will likely provide unlimited access—so don’t forget your swimsuit!

Requirements: Please fill the Parental Agreement and the Medical Fact Sheet as soon as possible (at least 3 weeks before the beginning of the workcamp). Foreigners belonging to the European Union must bring with them a personal EHIC (European Health Insurance Card), and everybody must, in any case, bring their insurance certificate. If health issues arise on the project, volunteers will have to pay for them, and will then be reimbursed once back in their home country. The vaccines proofs (a note from the doctor or a copy of the vaccines) is MANDATORY, see list in the Medical Fact Sheet. Unvaccinated volunteers will not be accepted.

The meeting is planned at the Montdidier SNCF train station at the end of the day on the 05/08. The exact time of the meeting will be communicated with the info sheet, sent at least 4 weeks before the beginning of the workcamp. If possible, please consider using low-carbon transportation (train and bus rather than airplane) for a sustainable international workcamp. The trains are open to booking about 4 months before the departure dates, accessible on the following website: https://www.sncf-connect.com/en-en/ If you are coming first by plane, remember that you will need some time to commute from the airport to the train station, therefore we recommend that you arrive early enough for you not to rush and have a stress-free travel.
