FSL India is a leading youth development organization promoting youth inclusion through volunteering and community development activities. It has been operating since 2001. FSL India’s roles and the development interventions through youth engagement at the grassroot level in the present local and global context are multi-dimensional as well as multi-directional. Under the three pillars and thematic areas of development interventions, FSL India focuses on youth volunteering, community development and education. Evers since came into being, FSL India has engaged more than 30k youth from 40+ countries, and contributed to community development process and youth integration through voluntary engagement, community development initiatives and educational programs that promote Social Leadership and Personal Social Responsibility (PSR).

Work: The camp will focus on the volunteers to understand the social and cultural aspects of the community they work. The volunteers will be given experience through interactions, workshops exchange of ideas, need analysis with the support of team leader, planning and be a part of completing the schedule work with the group of volunteers to the benefit of the community and a learning experience to the volunteers. The camp will consist of community service, Learning, Culture and evaluation Community service Activities: Interactions with community to understand their need and social challenges Attend workshops on women empowerment in India Visit to self-help groups and social entrepreneurship units managed by women Working with women in agriculture farm Teaching Basic English and mural painting at school Cultural exploration at Mysore city Present the project outcome with reference to the SDG to the University /School Students

Accomodation and food: Accommodation at a rented guest house or hostel, with shared rooms. You will be provided with bunk beds. Toilets and bathrooms are separate, with shower facilities

Location and Leisure: Mysore, India’s ‘Sandalwood City’ also known as the ‘City of Palaces’ is the cultural capital of the state of Karnataka. For nearly 6 centuries, the kingdom of Mysore was ruled by the Wodeyar dynasty, who were patrons of art and culture. An enlightened dynasty, the Vodeyars contributed significantly to the cultural and economic growth of the city and the state. In Mysore city, an ‘old-world’ ambience prevails. One can almost see the ghosts of years gone by, hear a faint battle-cry, the clash of weapons, or the boom of a cannon. Leisure Activities Mysore offers relaxed and enjoyable leisure options like visiting Mysuru Palace, strolling at Brindavan Gardens, Kukkarahalli Lake, or Karanji Lake, exploring culture at Jaganmohana Palace and museums, enjoying nature and wildlife at the Mysuru Zoo, shopping at the lively Devaraja Market, tasting local food, and spending fun time at GRS Fantasy Park; for calm experiences, people enjoy walks on Chamundi Hills, yoga sessions in Gokulam, café hopping, and evening fountain or sunset views around the city.
