The Children s Center at CLC attempts to make learning fun for children. It will cater to children 5 to 8 In the center, we have basic children s books, games, coloring books, crayons available which will help kids with learning and exploring their innate intelligence and creativity. It has also audio visual materials like television, speakers available for the children. You may also collect and bring some resources with you. As a volunteer, you will be able to organize a variety of events activities for children.

Work: Your rolesYour role includes helping to set up and tidy up rooms, get involved and lead on activities such as storytelling followed by hands on activities like drawing, arts and crafts, games. Interact with children and their parents on their learning needs.Visit community schools and conduct mobile library activities to provide information about the library and the facilities available in the children center.Conduct activities for supporting intellectually disablechildren. Raise funds and resources needed for the center.

Accomodation and food: The volunteers will stay with the host family/hostel identified by VIN. The living facilities are simple and basic. Male and female volunteers will share the same living area with separate rooms. The volunteers sleep on simple beds/mattresses. Please bring your sleeping bag.

Location and Leisure: Siddhicharan Municipality, Ward 2, Nisankhe-Nestled in Okhaldhunga district, about 250 km from Kathmandu. -Accessible via local jeep (8i10 hours). -Scenic hills, fertile farmland, and dense forests surround it. For more details about the region, visit www.ntchc.org.VIN also organizes weekend travel tours to Chitwan Jungle Safari, Pokhara, and Nagarkot at an additional cost if you are interested.

Requirements: We accept volunteers twice monthly, on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month. You are required to arrive a day before your project start date. -Basic English should be spoken among the participants - Physically sound as per the project requirements.

A VIN staff member will pick up volunteers from the airport. Please send your flight details in advance so we can provide a name card with the VIN logo.
