Wat Phikun Thong School | DaLaa 6902 | 2026-02-08 - 2026-02-20 | EDU | Age: 18 - 99
Wat Phikun Thong School is a small Buddhist school in Khuan Khanun district, Phatthalung province, Southern Thailand. In the last 2 years, we already organized 3 workcamps there and the enthusiasm of the school director and the students pushes us to go on. International volunteers give the students interest to study and practice English in non-formal classes and situations. Volunteers will have chance to discover the traditional culture of this remote area.
Work: The main role of the volunteers is to conduct non-formal English classes and organize fun activities for students aged 7 to 15. Volunteers will work in groups of at least 2–3 per class, with around three classes each day. In addition, extra activities will be arranged for the students during their free time and/or in the evening. Volunteers will also take part in community activities, such as sports competitions and temple ceremonies, which help strengthen relationships between the school, students, and local residents.
Accomodation and food: Volunteers will sleep in the classroom. There will be only some yoga mats, pillows, and mosquito nets. We suggest you bring your own sleeping bag, inflatable mattress, or another yoga mat. It’s ok if you don’t bring any of those, but you need to be sure that you will be comfortable in such condition. There are basic toilets, showers and a kitchen at the school canteen. The teachers and villagers are willing to help you to cook as well.
