Description: Shantivan, the campsite is located in Panvel. The place is called shantivan because it has lots of greenery and it's look beautiful and gives us shanti (peace) after visiting to this place. It is around an hours drive from Mumbai, the financial capital of India. Spread over a 122-acre plot in Wakdi village, off the Panvel- Matheran road of Maharashtra State, the Shantivan ashram has been treating and rehabilitating leprosy patients for 50 years, its activities to rural development and panchayat raj, besides adding a residential school for adivasi children, a home for the aged, a home for the invalid and a Naturopathy Clinic.

Type of Work: Garnishment of the Campsite- understanding the daily routine of the center and taking part in them wherever possible. Discussions of Peace, Prosperity and Positivity with local people and residents. Practicing Ancient Indian practices for Inner Peace. Leisure time and entertainment with residents of the Ashram and locals. Exploring Mumbai, surrounding hills, beaches and other areas.

Accommodation: Simple yet comfortable accommodation with Fans, Beds and Duvets will be provided. Separate accommodation for males and females will be provided. Volunteers will have access to Western Toilet and a Bucket Shower.

Requirements: With a lot of empathy and love to share amongst campers and residents of Shantivan.

Notes: The volunteers should have empathy towards leprosy people and attitude to serve them. The participants will be exposed to the current social, local and international issues through discussions and cultural evenings. Volunteers can bring in their musical instruments or any other talents to showcase in the camp.
