Nepal faces significant development challenges, including high poverty rates, low human development, and limited access to basic necessities like clean water and sanitation. Malnutrition and WASH-related diseases are prevalent, especially among children.Volunteers Initiative Nepal (VIN) aims to address these issues by educating communities, particularly children, on health, hygiene, and sanitation practices. Through innovative approaches, VIN will empower communities to improve their health outcomes and enhance pandemic preparedness.

Work: Volunteers will play a key role in educating and raising awareness among youth, children, and rural communities about water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH). They are encouraged to bring innovative ideas and develop tools tailored to the local context in consultation with the VIN team.-Educating communities about safe water practices and preventing waterborne diseases.-Raising awareness about health, hygiene, and sanitation in schools and the community.-Organizing cleanliness drives in schools and neighborhoods to promote a cleaner environment.-Utilizing creative mediums such as charts, slogans, posters, banners, T-shirts, quotes, videos, films, photographs, and discussions effectively engages and educates villagers.

Accomodation and food: The volunteers will stay with the host family/hostel identified by VIN. The living facilities are simple and basic. Male and female volunteers will share the same living area with separate rooms. The volunteers sleep on simple beds/mattresses. Please bring your sleeping bag.
