Every year thousands of visitors are welcomed to the YMCA Fairthorne Manor s 94 acre site on the south coast of England. The YMCA site includes sweeping grounds, mature woodland, a lake, access to the River Hamble and a range of exciting outdoor activities. Fairthorne is a place of first - from toddlers walking, kids splashing in the mud, being away from home for the first time, trying new activities, or a great school trip to remember. Enabling young people to grow and thrive is only made possible with fantastic volunteers from around the world, we want you to add the sparkle to everything the YMCA do. Volunteer with YMCA Fairthorne Manor to help support happy, healthy lives for all.

Work: Throughout your time volunteering with the YMCA Fairthorne you will help to deliver the highest quality of care and curriculum in line with the YMCA way and regulated guidelines. Keeping the YMCA core values at the heart of everything they do, Welcoming, Active, Listening, Inspiring, Caring and Exciting. As a volunteer, you will inspire the youngest participants, through delivering a exciting, child led, play based curriculum utilising the outdoors where-ever possible! From taking children on walks to explore nature, to eating and teaching around a campfire, you will be there to support young children as they challenge themselves and develop throughout their time at YMCA Fairthorne Manor Nursery. YMCA Fairthorne Manor are looking for a volunteer who: - Knows how to have fun! - Wants to make friends from all over the world. - Love being outside no matter the weather - Enjoy inspiring children and young people (if you have experience of volunteering with young people this would be excellent!) - Want to help make a difference to the community Want to learn new skills and improve on the amazing ones you have already! - Like the idea of your days and tasks being varied - Love the idea of making every visit to YMCA Fairthorne special and one they will remember forever!

Accomodation and food: YMCA Fairthorne will provide the following for all volunteers: - Full training and development opportunities - 3 meals a day - Accommodation in shared dormitory style rooms. - The chance to work with a really varied community - Loads of fun in the great outdoors - The chance to build friendships that last a lifetime - Learn new skills to stand you in good stead for many careers - Mentoring from our experienced staff team - The opportunity to learn about, and be part of, a huge international YMCA movement - YMCA uniform to ensure you feel part of the team

Location and Leisure: YMCA Fairthorne encourage all volunteers to take the chance to get out and Explore the UK. YMCA Fairthorne is situated just outside of Southampton and less than two hours from London. Situated in a 94 acre land in Botley, it truly is a stunning landscape where volunteers can enjoy the nature, but also not to far away from Southampton which is one of the biggest Cities on the South Coast where volunteers can do the following: - Shopping - Visit the Solent Sky Museum - The theatre - Southampton Football Club - Go to a game! - Visit the Tudor houses - Travel to Stonehenge

Train/Bus station: Botley, Hampshire Train Station

Volunteers can get a direct train from Southampton to Botley, or if flying in to a London airport you get the train to Southampton Central and then on to Botley.

Extra Fee: 50 GBP

- Volunteers will be volunteering from Monday to Friday from 07:30am - 6:00pm with breaks throughout the day. Volunteers will have both Saturday and Sunday for their leisure time. - Volunteers must be over 18 at the time the programme starts due to accommodation rules. - Volunteers must be able to fund their own flights to the UK and get to Botley Train Station where the YMCA will collect and take to final destination. - Volunteers must provide Two References and a Police check to Concordia. - Volunteers need to be able to attend an online interview with the YMCA Fairthorne Manor. There is only room for ONE volunteer. Interviews will take place in December. All volunteers will receive a small cash payment of £420 after the first month to spend on items they wish.
