Rumah Ilham is one of the institutions in Indonesia whose the local staff are experienced in the application and training of waste renewable energy and waste for sustainable farming, especially biogas and organic agriculture. They have mission to share and introduce the environmentally friendly energy to Indonesian by giving some local workshops to the farmers or villagers in Demak and surroundings.

Work: The role of the volunteer will be assisting local staffs and learning the implementation of renewable energy such as waste management, planting mangrove, supporting staffs to maintain the center   Moreover, the presence of volunteers could give some ideas and feedback for the improvement in Rumah Ilham.

The volunteers will be introduced to the Indonesian culture and customs in general, with a special focus on the Javanese particularities. Some cultural visits are also foreseen.

Accommodation: The accommodation and food will be provided by host project. The volunteer will stay at local host family or dormitory (to be confirmed). Facilities are simple and Indonesian style (no hot water, no washing machine).

Location: Demak, Central Java.

Leisure Time: During free time, the volunteers will have the chance to visit and explore culture and tourism spot in Yogyakarta.

Requirements: The volunteers should accept all the rules and condition of the project. Volunteer is recommended NOT to buy flight ticket at least 2 months before the project start, to avoid the cancellation of the project due to lack of participant. Please contact and confirm again to the organization for last update information. The project will be run ONLY if the minimum participants are 5 people. All international travelers (foreign national) who will enter the territory of the Republic of Indonesia shall make readjustments with regards to their travel documents, to ensure compliance with the provisions regarding categories of foreign nationals allowed to enter Indonesia.

The requirements for entering Indonesia for international travelers (foreign citizen) are as follows: Fully vaccinated (second or third doses) at least 30 days prior to departure; Take possession of Proof of Vaccination or Vaccination Certificate (physical or digital); Download and make use of app of Peduli Lindungi; There is no need to present a Negative proof of RT-PCR test.; Travelers will be interviewed and may be subject to additional checkups at the point of entry; All additional regulation and mitigation that might be change anytime depends on the situation in Indonesia; If you test positive, you may request to isolate / quarantine for 5-10 days (according to current regulation which may subject to change dependening the case of pandemic)  at your own expense. These procedures are strictly enforced. If you want to make sure, please check the website of the Indonesian embassy in your country about the latest regulation entering Indonesia. It is still recommended to wear a facemask in public and many public spaces require proof of vaccination to enter. Fines and other penalties may apply for violations of the restrictions. The fee must be paid in CASH upon arrival. Failure of full payment upon arrival, the participant is not allowed to join the project for any reason.
