Description: Back to nature workcamp will host volunteers eager to contribute to community activities in the local environment. The Lojtra Association, an association for the personal and professional development of young people, works in two areas, which are often intertwined: sustainable development and youth work. These topics are at the heart of various activities carried out locally and internationally. In the field of sustainable development, our main purpose is to co-create a community that lives more in harmony with nature and is aware of its limitations. In addition, we want to expand the potential of the natural environment in supporting the learning processes of young and old. You are invited to support us in co-creating these community spaces and learning spaces in the natural environment.

Type of Work: We are inviting volunteers to support us in implementing a small local festival of sustainability in Litija, Village Day in historical village Vače, and other activities where association hosts activities in nature and community garden. You will reconstruct a teepee, help on the community garden and local farm, and support the organization and implementation of the community festival of sustainability and village day (physical, logistical and creative work). You will also be invited to co-create the program of the festival and to participate in its activities (intuitive singing workshop, forest therapy, DIY recycling workshops, Saturday concert, and Sunday village day activities,...) and share your knowledge and practices connected to sustainability and living in tune with nature.

Accommodation: The accommodation will be organized on the hill where we host activities in nature, in tents. We can provide tents. You are asked to bring your own sleeping bag, but if needed let us know in advance and we can organize also this. There are two showers and two toilets and a communal kitchen, a teepee, a big traditional structure called toplar, and lots of covered spaces. The hill is surrounded by forest and located 8 km from the train station. We can organize pick up or you can walk to the location (1,5h).

Requirements: Motivation to work and support us in organizing that week's activities. Eagerness to learn about sustainability. And contribute own practices.

Approximate Location: Village Ponoviče, on top of the hill, part of the activities will take place on a community garden 1 km away from the place and in town of Litija (Saturday morning part of the festival) and bigger historical village Vače (Sunday village day).

Notes: Please, kindly note that there is an additional incoming fee of 50€ for all volunteers applying through Partner organizations or Contacts of the SCI network. Check the status of your organization here: https://sci.ngo/about-us/our-movement/where-we-are/ This fee covers hosting costs, insurance, a small travel fund to enable disadvantaged volunteers to join projects and administration costs. The fee is to be paid upon arrival at the project or online directly to the hosting branch. There is no additional fee for volunteers coming from SCI Branches and Groups, since the costs are included in the amount paid to the sending branch.
