Description: After 4 years of progress, we are now transforming CYA - Learning Center (CLC) into the Center for Sustainable Development (CSD) where we will expand our work from education into community development. The center will include activities such as vegetable farm, solar installation, and improve the quality and expand the market for soap products. Of course, we are continuing to improve our education program for local children and teenagers. We will include computers, arts, and music into its existing English classes. CSD is located in a remote area of Kampot province. It takes about 2 hours 30 minutes from Phnom Penh. We are looking forward to working with you and your volunteers!

Type of Work: Volunteers are going to work in various activities such organizing ceremonies and events with local people, teaching English, music, arts, and sports to children, and working with local people in income generation program.

Study Theme: Education and Development

Accommodation: Volunteer will stay together at volunteer's house inside the village. Food will be prepared by local chef but you will be asked to serve, clean, and wash dishes by yourself.

Language: English and Khmer will be the language in the camp

Requirements: The volunteers should be ready to stay in the remote environment and adapt to the local conditions. Volunteers should be able to be with the kids and prepare some games and material for teaching .

Approximate Location: Center for Sustainable Development (CSD) is located in Kampot Province.

Notes: Additional Fee In 2022 many SCI workcamps will have an additional fee of €50.00. This will cover - local hosting costs; insurance costs of the volunteer; a small travel fund to enable disadvantaged volunteers to join projects; administration costs of SCI International. If you apply through an SCI branch the fee will be included in the fee you pay to your sending branch. If you apply through a partner organisation you will pay the fee on arrival at the project; direct to the hosting branch or through different payment platforms.
