Local Partner:
Afacan Youth House www.afacan.de is a place where GHD runs voluntary workcamps for disadvantaged
youth and children, disabled people, teenagers and kids.
Work:
As the premises will be shut after this amp, the volunteers will help for closing works like emptying the
rooms, carrying furniture, collecting bed sheets, filling and placing antiflood sacks, re-organizing the
workshop rooms, harvesting olives from the trees in the garden, etc.
Accommodation and food:
In the youth center, in double rooms with toilet and shower. Food will be supplied at the center. Wi-fi is
provided but limited.
Location & leisure:
Yenisakran is a a provincial district in the city of Izmir by the Aegean Sea, in west of Türkiye. Work camp site
is safe and secure.

Meeting point:
In Afacan Youth House on the first day of the camp. Please arrange your travel to Izmir Airport. Further
arrival details will be on the info sheet.
COVID-19 measures:
Although most of the COVID-19 restrictions have been abolished in Türkiye please check for exceptional

Volunteers are requested to bring their own masks and disinfectant liquids. Our camp leaders are well
informed about the precautions that are necessary to take according to different scenarios related with
COVID-19.

IMPORTANT: Due to COVID-19 pandemic, all workcamps are going under re-confirmation process 1 month
prior to their starting dates. Accepted volunteers are requested to wait until 1 month left to the starting date of
the camp before making their final travel arrangements.
