COBBLED WAY & DRY-STONE IN PROVENCE | CONCF-215 | 2021-08-04 - 2021-08-25 | RENO,ENVI | Age: 15 - 17

Oppède is a medieval commune with a very rich heritage; some places are designed national heritage sites. Very dynamic and invested in the development of its town and its historical and natural heritage, several projects are currently underway in the village. If most of Oppède’s inhabitants moved in the valley 100 years ago, the old village’s site is steeped in history, with its medieval houses, its cobbled streets and its listed heritage. This is the first year of a partnership with the commune of Oppède, we expect it will last as many years as possible. Thanks to your commitment on our project we will have the chance to restore and enhance this magnificent site together for the benefit of the population and tourists.

Work: Get involved in the heritage of Oppède project, a magnificent medieval village of Luberon. For dry-stone and nature lovers! With an exceptional heritage, Oppède is very committed into its old village preservation; located on its rocky peak, the old village has an overlook on the Calavon valley and the Combrès gorges. Come and restore a beautiful cobbled path and dry-stone walls in a tree-filled park. The work here is divided between two remarkable sites, the village center and the Sainte Cécile terraced garden, with: - Rebuilding a cobbled way to the heart of the village (clean and restore the path made of stones) over a length of 20 meters. - Restoring and retaining dry-stone wall - Building dry-stone stairs to give an access between the terraced gardens

Accomodation and food: You will be accommodated in tents on a site with access to a building for collective daily life, showers, toilets and meals. Remember to bring your camping mat or air mattress and your sleeping bag. You will share the different collective tasks and prepare meals together. A budget will be allocated to the workcamp leaders, you will participate in the grocery shopping and the preparation of the meals, favoring healthy and local products. From Monday to Friday, lunch will be provided by the local community center.
