PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The project takes place in Vicchio, 35 km from Florence, where the Podere Aia Santa of the non-profit association Le
C.A.S.E. has been located since 2007. It is run by a number of volunteer families who have chosen to live in a
community way and with sober lifestyles, without being owners of the structures. The association brings together 5
experiences of family homes and two experimental centres.
Aia Santa is one of these centres and since autumn 2008 it has been hosting migrants leaving family homes or asylum
seekers.
The adults in the families have jobs outside the communities and contribute with their voluntary work to the
renovation of the buildings, agricultural management and reception activities.
In addition to the accommodation, the 16 hectares of land are used for organic farming and for training and
experimentation on socially responsible and environmentally sustainable lifestyles.
Especially during the summer, the farm offers hospitality to scout and volunteer groups and organises work camps.
The Aia Santa farm has a website: www.aiasanta.org and a facebook page: aiasanta.
We are asking for the collaboration of IBO for the maintenance of the house and the arrangement of outdoor spaces.
