RC-09/21 BADDI/BANDH COMBATING PANDEMICS SOC/EDU 10 Vol. 02.08.21 – 14.08.21
Background: The recent pandemic of Covid-19 has
completely changed behaviour and perceptions of
people. Whereas a segment of community takes all
safety precautions the other segment ignores them
completely and thinks they are beyond the reach of
disease due to their strong immunity. Though the
infection level has gone down still the communities need
education, awareness on pandemic implications and a
new normal way of life post pandemic.
Spending an increasing amount of time indoors has
driven us to value relationships with family and friends
and fostered a better sense of wellbeing.
This first of its kind pandemic through various economic,
social and political avenues, will affect global
developmental objectives at a much broader scale. The
impacts will be observed more prominently in the UN
Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
