Do you like playing with children and want to ensure that children from the North-West Mecklenburg district enjoy great holidays? Then get involved and help to supervise 40 to 50 children aged 6 – 12 in the Hanseatic city of Wismar and in 3 other locations in North-West Mecklenburg, as a part of their holiday games events. With your ideas and flair for creative projects, sports, games, music and dance, you can make sure that these days are a great experience for both the children and yourselves. With games, songs and crafts ideas from your home countries, you can give the holiday event an international flair. In the first week of the camp, you will be preparing a press conference as well as the holiday games event. Afterwards, in the second and third week of the camp, you will be supervising the children together with the pedagogical team of employees on-site and putting your creative ideas into practice. The holiday event takes place in the Hanseatic city of Wismar and in the youth facilities in the North-West Mecklenburg district. You will travel to your place of work in Wismar by bike, via a beautiful 2km long cycle path along the small river Köppernitz. For the other sites you will need to travel with public transport. With the bicycles provided, you can also go on trips in the city and the local surroundings. You will receive holiday tickets to use on the public transport for any other journeys. A good knowledge of German will make it easier for you to interact with the children. The common languages of the camp will be English and German. Please remember to bring some music and games ideas from your home countries with you!

Accomodation and food

The group will prepare and cook meals together. You will be staying in the “Wagenburg”, a camp with very simple and small Wild Western style wagons for two persons each, a barbecue area and a stone baking oven You can find out more about the adventurous “Wagenburg” accommodation at https://wagenburg.wobau-wismar.de/. It’s located on the edge of Wismar (www.wismar.de) in a quite park.

Location and leisure

Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Wismar, 125 km east of Hamburg on the Baltic Sea You can play volleyball and football at your accommodation. You will be provided with bikes in order to go on trips to the Baltic Sea or the city centre. The Hanseatic city of Wismar is of the most beautiful old Hanseatic city on the Baltic Sea coast. Besides this, you can also go on larger excursions at the weekends to places such as Lübeck, Rostock, Hamburg, Berlin or the Isle of Poel.

Additional comments

Please bring some music and some ideas for games from your home country with you. At the end of June it can still be very cold in Germany. Therefore it might be very cold at night in the covered wagon. You should have a good knowledge of German, an ability to work with children and be able to ride a bike.
