Description: The Lessinia Film Festival is the only Italian cinematographic contest dedicated exclusively to short films, documentaries and feature movies about the life, history and traditions of the mountains. In 1995 the Festival was initiated by the Curatorium Cimbricum Veronense Association as a video exhibition dedicated to the Veronese mountains. However, during the years it gradually expanded involving topics about mountains all over the world and gained international recognition. The venue of the festival is Bosco Chiesanuova, where it initially started. The film projections will be held at Teatro Vittoria during the last two weeks of August. The movie program will be complemented by special events, exhibitions, discussions with international guests, concerts and other cultural activities.

Type of Work: The volunteers will support the organization of the film festival - therefore, shifts will be scheduled according to the abilities and interests of the participants. The main tasks will be:

• cleaning and organizing the venue in the beginning;
• setting up and removal of the festival facilities;
• welcoming the international guests and the members of the jury;
• welcoming the audience and helping them to find their seats during the movies/lectures;
• providing information to the visitors at info points or at the exhibitions, organized during the film festival;
• organizing and coordinating workshops for kids.

Study Theme: The film festival offers a lot of learning opportunities for the volunteers. They will have free access to all the movies, lectures and discussions that will be held during the festival. It will be their choice to decide which of the events to join. In addition, the experts who will collaborate in the organization of the film festival will hold discussions and debates with the group in order to deepen the knowledge of the volunteers on the topics they have chosen.

Accommodation: The volunteers will be accommodated together in an apartment, with possibility for separate rooms for men and women. The apartment is equipped with beds and blankets, but the volunteers must bring their own sheets, pillowcases and towels. There will be bathroom with shower and toilets. There is an equipped kitchen where the volunteers can make their breakfast. Lunch and dinner will take place at the festival cafeteria together with the other staff members (around 90 people) to encourage the dialogue between the volunteers and the local community. There is no wifi connection in the apartment.

Language: The staff members speak English, but having a basic knowledge of Italian language will help the volunteers to interact with the guests and the visitors of the festival.

Requirements: The volunteers are required to have strong teamwork skills and a collaborative attitude, to be communicative and open to dialogue with guests and visitors.

Approximate Location: The festival is held in Bosco Chiesanuova, province of Verona.

Notes: In Bosco Chiesanuova there are supermarkets, pharmacies, ATMs and various shops. During the free time, the volunteers can join all the movies, the excursions organized by the festival and the live music concerts held in the festival square during the evenings. The film festival staff will provide the volunteers with all the information they need if they want to organize trips to the cities (such as Verona, Venice, Padua) or excursions in the Monti Lessini regional park.
