Revitalise a hikingpath for St-A-R-S! | ANEC25 | 2019-08-05 - 2019-08-26 | ENVI,CONS,MANU | Age: 14 - 17

 

Saint-Amant-Roche-Savine (St-A-R-S) is a charming village, located in the Regional Nature Parc of the Livradois-Forez (one of the biggest in France!). In order to develop nature sports (hiking), fauna and flora observation and preservation, the mayor and one of the regional organisations of Etudes et Chantiers (CACIAURA, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region) decided to organise a teenage workcamp fro the second consecutive year to give the local families (the S-t-A-R-S) a hand and successfully complete this project! SO NOW IT S YOUR TIME TO SHINE !

Work: Participate to St-A-R-S village dynamism and dailylife, give a new life to a local footpath in the charming forest "Le Bois des Fourches" by cleaning it and creating signingss about fauna and flora in order to enable friendly, familial and pedagological hikings in the forest. Your mission will be : cleaning the path by removing branches and some stones, cleaning the foopath signings, creating fauna and flora informations, maybe also some landart... You will also meat local people and help organising the friendly patronal fest : a friendly village celebration taking place at the end of the workcamp, a good moment to present your work, you will be part of this celebration! Finally, you will immerse yourself in the local life and meet the tourists.

Accomodation and food: Accommodation is under tents (2 per tent) on the town stadium. Volunteers are in charge of daily life tasks, in teams (shopping, cooking, cleaning). Dont forget to bring recepies from your contry to share with other volunteers! The kitchen, showers and bathroom are in a building nearby.

Location and Leisure: Saint-Amant-Roche-Savine (St-A-R-S) is located in the Regional Nature Parc of the Livradois-Forez, 12km from Ambert town (famous for the gastronomy, and its cheese!) in the French department of the Puy-de-Dome, region Auvergne-Rhones-Alpes. Its a medium mountain zone, with a rich fauna and flora, numerous waterways, cultural heritage, offering magnificent panoramas of "Forez Mounts". You will discover the surroundings through hiking, activities, and contacts with local population during the villages celebration preparation.
