CJM3 Meknès/ Moulay Idriss Zarhoun

Moulay Idriss is a small Town situated  at 25 kms to the north of Meknès. 

It is the cradle of the first Moroccan dynasty ( the Idrissides).It is a center of pelegrinage for Moroccans.

   The area is  known by its panoramic naturel view and the proximity with the old Roman city Volubilis.

“Chantiers jeunesse Maroc” is organizing a workcamp with the collaboration  the national mutual Aid of Meknès.

the work consists of gardening and cleaning in the “Complexe social , educative of Moulay Idriss Zarhoun.

The duration of work is 5 hours a day.

Lodging:volunteers will be lodged in “ complexe social educative of Moulay Idriss Zarhoun”

Meals: meals will be prepared by volunteers.

Leisure activities: 

Volunteers will have  to setup their own programme of leisure activities.

  There are some hints to help you setup this programme.

Volunteers have the choice of hiking in the mountains of the Atlas (Ifrane ,Azrou ,Immouzer; Michlifen , habry 

  Meknès :  Bab Mansour, Saarij Guanaoua, Volubilis (Roman cite is very close to Meknès).

 You will also have to bring with them working clothes, a sleeping bag, and anything which could contribute to the good progress of the workcamp (game sets, musical instruments, cooking recipe, etc….). This will give you an interesting opportunity to discover cultural reality and habits of the local population.

Meeting point:The first meeting will be the campleader will wait for you in Moulay Idriss bus station.                       

   CJM fees: 50 euros to be paid by volunteer on arrival.

How to get to the camp

 

By train from the airport: From Fès Saiss airport, take a taxi to Fès train station, from there take 

a train to Meknès train station, see the train timetable as follow; from Meknès bus station take bus

number 8 or 15 to Moulay Idriss Zarhoune (price 7dh)

By train from Casablanca Mohammed V airport  take the train to Casablanca voyageurs railway station and from there take a train to Meknès train station, See the train timetable as follow;  from Meknès  station take a bus number 8 or 15 (price 7dh) to Moulay Idriss Zarhoun.
