Work: BackgroundWuchi Old Street was an economic center of fishery, shipping and commerce in early years. The old buildings are currently seen which was reconstructed after the central earthquake in 1935.Different from the gorgeous and complicated Art Deco than other old streets, this one is an eclectic building. With a variety of hue wash stones to decorate walls and geometrical shape of door and window; these are quietly aesthetic.The retaining of Yingchuanyan style, Sintongcheng, Linjian, Hongfutai, Peitongan and other business establishments, all can witness prosperity of Wuqi Old Street in the past. Xiayu is located on the north side of Wuchi Old Street. The construction of Taichung Port has lost the sea. Accomodation and food: We will stay in an accommodation owned by the The Presbyterian Church In Port of Taichung. Sleep in shared room with woody bed. Sleeping bags are compulsory (volunteers need to bring your own, please). Meals will be served by the community except one dinner have to be cooked by volunteers. Need to bring mosquito repellent.
