P: The host of this camp is Niva Village Association. They are a group of people actively working for their local environment and cultural life. They have hosted very successful work camps before and the whole village is waiting for the internationals to come and join them for common actions.

W: Volunteers will assist in maintaining the public places, painting and  tidying and environmental tasks in Niva village area together with local people. There will also be some local small events such as fishing completion at the time of the camp. The aim of this camp is cross-cultural learning and to bring multicultural atmosphere to Niva Village.

A: The accommodation is arranged in a hunting cabin. Cooking will be done by the volunteers themselves, ingredients will be provided by the host.

L:  Niva is a small village, located 30km from a bigger town called Joensuu and it belongs to beautiful and peaceful North Karelia region in eastern Finland. The distance to Helsinki is about 400 kilometers. During leisure time, various summer activities such as hiking and playing games with locals are possible and there will also be some sightseeing. The volunteers will have the chance to learn about local cultural heritage and traditions in Northern Karelia region.

T: Joensuu can be reached from Helsinki by train and plane. 

SR: The volunteers need travel insurance for the duration of their stay. Fee: 40 euros.
