Description: The project partner is the Kinga Kovács Memorial Found, which was founded in 2006 in order to foster intercultural dialogue and provide financial, material and educational support for language learning purposes. This year's camp is going to be the 11th SCI-workcamp here. The Memorial Found every year organises a summer camp for the local children in the local primary school, where the volunteers are expected to help during the two weeks. Due to the long tradition of the camp, the international volunteers are always warmly welcome.

Type of Work: Volunteers will help during the whole summer camp called Hetedhét Tábor.. It will require creativity and enthusiasm: volunteers will help in a children summer camp, which is organized for local primary school kids (approximately 30 children, 4-14-years-olds). Volunteers will organize various activities for them including the sportsday and an international day for the children as well as they will plan and carry out daily free time activities (e.g.: teaching language, sports events, art workshop, games) for them. The volunteers are asked to prepare a presentation about their home country, their culture, national cuisine, games or dance for the international evenings in order to get to know each other culture as well.

Study Theme: This camp is a great opportunity to discover Hungarian village life. There will be a workshop held by a local craftwomen on straw art, the volunteers will have the opportunity to learn how to make a handmade brittle cake. Besides in order to get to know the culture volunteers will be introduced to local farmer families. Last but not least there will be an excursion to the Kiskunság National Park which surrounds the village, where volunteers can learn about the exceptional flora and fauna.

Accommodation: The volunteers will stay in the primary school of Ágasegyháza. There are showers, toilets, kitchen. Beds are provided, but you should bring your sleepingbag. Food is included for the duration of the workcamp. Lunches will be prepared by local families. Volunteers will need to prepare their own breakfast and dinner (and to wash up after meals), but ingredients will be provided by the foundation. It would be great if you could bring recipes with you so during these 2 weeks we could taste several national meals.

Requirements: We expect to the volunteers will have motivation and interest in working with children. It is important that the volunteers should be open-minded, creative, self-sufficing and flexible who can adapt to changes and who like to work in a group. We expect you to contribute with your own ideas!

Please note, during the camp the volunteers will be in close touch to children and youngsters, therefore the consumption of any drugs, alcohol or tobacco is forbidden!
