Work: Your work tasks in Meppen and the surrounding area will be in different nature reserves: in the scenic landscape around the rivers Hase and Ems, you will find historic-culturally used grazing areas, where your group will weed out the poisonous Jakobskreuzkraut, which the Galloway cattle must not eat. Well equipped with rubber boots and fishermans trousers, you will remove the non-native birch and pine trees from the moor, in order to enable the protected animal and plant species, like wild geese, grass snakes and sun dew, to spread again. You will also cut the steep sand walls close to the river, so kingfishers can build their nests for their hatch there. In addition, you help build hiking trails and put up information boards. You will live in four holiday homes in the former “Heuerhaus” of a farm. The town of Meppen has 35.000 residents. If you want to take day trips, you will have bicycles at your disposal. The city of Meppen and the local train station are 7 km from your accommodation.

Accomodation and food: Holiday homes on the farm, 7km from the city centre. Shared rooms, terrace and a nice outside area with a barbecue site. You will cook together.
