AUZIELLE – Restoration of a wall of stone in the village | CONCF-122 | 2018-07-06 - 2018-07-27 | RENO | Age: 18 - 99

Welcome to Auzielle! The citizens of this village are proud to welcome you into their charming home, where life is good. Help them preserve their heritage by restoring an important piece of history in the middle of the village.

Work: The coating of the outer cemetery walls is old, and we can observe a global degradation of the structure. You will have to entirely redo the lime coating. Furthermore, the top screeds of the wall are severely damaged, allowing water infiltration, so it needs to be completely rebuilt.

Accomodation and food: You will stay in tents next to a clubhouse with access to changing rooms, toilets, showers, and a kitchen. You will prepare the meals in shifts and participate to the organisation of the collective life (planning’s organisation, cleaning, shopping, etc.). We will encourage the purchase of local and seasonal products.

Location: AUZIELLE

Location and Leisure: Auzielle, a small town in the Haute-Garonne near the city of Toulouse, counts today 1,400 inhabitants. Straddling between countryside and city, Auzielle is nestled among rolling hills covered with little houses and sunflowers. Storekeepers, associations, and many nearby services contribute to the daily life of the village to make it a pleasant place to live.

Train/Bus station: You’ll arrive to the airport or the train station of Toulouse, then a bus will take you directly to Auzielle.

Requirements: Bring working clothes and shoes (waterproof if possible, in case of rain). Bring a warm sleeping bag and a good camping mat (for sleeping in the tent); nights can be chilly and wet. Tents will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own. Do not hesitate to bring activities from home, such as photos, games, musical instruments, food etc. And don’t forget your swimming suit; you may need it! Foreigners from the European Union must bring their personal EHIC (European Health Insurance Card), and all participants must bring their insurance certificate. If health issues arise during the program, volunteers will need to cover all costs; they will be reimbursed upon their return to their home country.
