Here live international and French volunteers who have chosen to give their time to participate in the realization of a dream: to build peace. Learning to live together and gathering different cultures is a challenge they have taken up. Some have chosen to stay for 6 months, others will stay in the village for 1 year. These volunteers will welcome you in their home for three weeks. You will be integrated into their daily lives and you will participate with them in renovation work and other activities. This workcamp is called "Unusual destination" because you will be immersed in the heart of French rural life. In 2017, a first group of international volunteers began to work in the village on the rehabilitation of a large stone wall at the bottom of the market hall that hosts weekly market and various events.

Work: This year, you will be in charge of renovating the seals between the stones. You will be accompanied by a technical leader. On site, you will have the opportunity to meet the local people who will most certainly be delighted and pleasantly surprised by your initiative. You will create some activities and communicate about the organizations projects in the village.

Accomodation and food: You will sleep in the “House of Companions” with long-term volunteers, in large dormitories. You will have to cook in teams in the collective kitchen. You will have access to the sanitary facilities (showers and toilets) of the house.

Location: Laguépie

Location and Leisure: The picturesque village of Laguépie is located 100 km north-east of Toulouse, between Rodez and Montauban and near Albi. You will choose with your group the activities that you wish to do. You will have the opportunity to enjoy local festivities (concerts, shows...) and have the opportunity to discover the natural and cultural heritage. You can enjoy swimming, walks, meetings with the local youth of Laguépie, organize pizza evenings near the bread oven, game parties, visit medieval villages such as Najac, Cordes-sur-Ciel, Saint-Antonin Noble Val... Visits to farms where you can taste the local specialties will also be organised.
